Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Review Design
After seeing Xiaomi Redmi Y1, it can be said with confidence that the impression of the Xiaomi family is clearly visible. If you assume it Redmi 4 at first glance, then it will not be shocking. Take the phone in hand and you will feel that it is bigger than Xiaomi Redmi 4. It has a 5.5 inch display. At Redmi Y1, you will find 16 megapixel front camera with selfie flash. There are capacitive touch buttons for navigation at the bottom of the screen.
This phone with 153 grams is quite light and Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is made by plastic to keep less weight. Chrome Highlights give a feel to being metal back plat. But rear and edge are made of plastic. Power and volume buttons are also plastic. The 13-megapixel primary camera and flash top is on the edge and the fingerprint sensor has a place in the middle. The scanner position is convenient. On the left side there is a SIM tray. You will get 2 Nano SIM slots. Apart from this, there is a separate slot for the MicroSD card to increase the storage.
At the bottom, there is a MicroSB port, while on top the IR Blaster, there is Secondary Mike and Headphone Jack for Noise Cancellation. We liked the build quality of Redmi Y1. Xiaomi has used good quality plastic which gives a feeling of premium. The retail box of the handset is simple. The box has a SIM ejector tool, a 10-watt charger and a micro-USB cable.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Review Specification and Feature
To accelerate this phone, the company has used the Snapdragon 435 processor. This processor has been used in Xiaomi Redmi 4 (Review). The clock speed of this octa-core processor is 1.4 GHz. Redmi Y1 has two variants. First comes with a 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage and the other gets 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Whether you choose any variant. You have the facility of using the microSD card up to 128 GB.
This phone’s 5.5 screen HD is 720×1280 resolution. 2.5D Curved Corning Gorilla Glass For Protection The key feature of Radmi Y1 is the 16 megapixel front camera, which is equipped with selfie flash. In the market there are very few censored sensors on the front panel. The phone becomes more attractive due to the front flash. There is 13 megapixel sensor with PDAF and F / 2.2 aperture on the rear part.
Radmi Y1’s battery is 3080 mAh. It is very rare compared to the 44 mAh battery of Xiaomi Redmi 4. Xiaomi Redmi Y1 has Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n, GPS, A-GPS and GLONASS for connectivity. Accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, electronic compass, hall sensor and gyroscope are part of it. Both SIM slots do 4G and VOLTE support. But at the same time only one SIM will be able to use the 4G network.
We got a variant of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage for review. It was running on the MUI 9 Beta based on Android Noaga. There are many new features in MIUI 9. The UI will be updated, but it is unclear whether Xiaomi will update the version of Android. If you have used the first UI, then the updated user interface will be easily understood. But if you have brought stock Android or any other skin, then it will take some time for you to become complacent. The interface of the settings has changed to a lesser extent and the MUI handles app permissions in a slightly different fashion. As soon as you become compliant with this user interface, you will be able to pay a MiUI.
You’ll get new features like dual-apps. With this help, you will be able to run two accounts simultaneously in an app like Facebook, Facebook and Facebook. The phone also has a reading mode which makes the color tone of the screen a bit warm. Because of this, it is more convenient to use the phone in the night. Many apps of Xiaomi will also get pre-installed. Apart from this, the company has its own store. There is a theme support, which will help you to change the look of the phone in a few seconds. Let us know that we were using the MUI 9 beta. It’s possible that things will change slightly in the final build.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Review Performance
Looking at the reliable hardware, there is nothing shocking that the experience of using Redmi Y1 is good. After fast scan of fingerprint, the phone is unlocked instantly. Apps also launch faster. We like the exact color reproduction and viewing angle of the screen of Redmi Y1. You can change the color temperature of the display according to your liking. The phone also handles multitasking firmly. Overall, we got the likes of software and hardware in this phone of Xiaomi.
During the testing, we played Clash Royale, Asphalt 8 and Prime Pax games. The phone did not have any problem in running these games. The phone did not get too hot during the game. However, we found that battery consumption was fast.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Review Camera
The camera app of Redmi Y1 is the same as the other phones of Xiaomi. You have several modes to choose from, such as Panorama, Beauty and Manual. App contains quick toggles for HDR and Flash, which is a feature of work. The selfie camera has a quick toggle for the beauty mode. There was no lack of detail in the photographs taken in daylight and the colors were quite accurate. The camera’s performance is not very good in low light. The phone is able to keep the level of noise low, but the pictures are not good. You will need steady hands to take useful photo.
The most important feature of this new series is the Selfie. We tested the front camera in different circumstances. Sharpe came in the light of daylight, but when they were zoomed in, a lot of grains appeared. SELF Flash works better in low light. Portrait shots are good, but grains are also visible in the background. The photos are better due to the beauty mode. But there is no point in wow … in the front camera.
Xiaomi Redmi Y1 Review Battery
Xiaomi Redmi sports with 3080 mAh battery which is an average battery. The phone used to last about a day in common use. Our HD video loop test lasted 9 hours and 45 minutes, which is very short compared to 14 hours and 20 minutes of Xiaomi Redmi 4. If you have a battery life preference, then there is a better option for the Redmi 4.
If seen, Redmi Y1, Xiaomi is the first attempt to make a cell phone centered. The hardware is trustworthy and it is fully capable of most of the tasks. The MUI 9 is quite smoother and the user will soon be addicted to it. Camera performance is good in daylight, but average in low light. Speaking of selfies, flash is proven helpful and beauty mode also works to some extent. But the output is not always good.
The biggest challenge for Xiaomi Redmi Y1 is the company’s own Xiaomi Redmi 4 handset. The price of Redmi Y1 and Redmi 4 is almost equal, and most of the hardware features are the same. Redmi 4 has a metal body and more compact body gets bigger batteries. But the Redmi Y1 has a bigger screen and front flash also. Redmi Y1 can be bought if Selfie is most important to you. If not, then Redmi 4 is still at the forefront of this price.
