Maruti Suzuki is preparing to launch a facelift version of the Baleno premium hatchback in India that is likely to hit the showrooms in the first quarter of 2019. This Baleno facelift is expected to arrive with a completely new 1.5-litre diesel engine built indigenously by the Indo-Japanese automaker. This new engine will replace the current 1.3-litre DDiS motor sourced from Fiat. Interestingly, the current 1.3-litre engine is likely to be discontinued in 2020 due to the upcoming stricter emission norms.
The Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will receive some significant design updates that will include LED projector headlamps like the Maruti Ignis. Apart from that, there will be a revised front grille, updated bumpers. Also, there would be restyled alloy wheels as well.
Not only exterior, the cabin too will receive some updates in order to become much more appealing compared to the current model. There would be updated seat and upholstery material adding zing to the premium hatchback. However, features and design along with interior space are expected to remain same as the current model.
