It comes with glass back, dual rear camera setup, 19: 9 display and out of box Android 8.0 Oreo.

The value of Honor 9N in India starts from Rs. 11,999 Its direct clash is from the handset like Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1, Oppo Realme 1 and Moto G6. Does this new smartphone of Honor have a different identity in the Budget Segment? Have a look on the Honor 9N review to know more. Let’s know

Honor 9N Design

At first glance, the design of Honor 9 N attracts attention first. The back panel is made of glass and it comes with glossy finish. Horizontal Dual Camera is not out of the backpawn surface. The antenna line is hidden. For these reasons, the back panel looks very clean.

The 5.84 inch display has a top-notch which is quite small. There are no two opinions in between that there is no opinion among customers regarding Display Note. Therefore, Honor has also given the option to hide Display Note in the settings menu. In fact, with this help, the user can black off the side of the knot.

The smartphone is extremely compact. Made for use with one hand. Due to the curved edges and the curved side, this device gives a good feel in the hands. But it also slips smoothly too. Due to glossy glass back, it also has fingerprints. Build Quality Compliment is Qualified. The phone gives a sense of strength in hands. It dropped several times during the review, but nothing happened to it.

The fingerprint sensor that works on the rear side works fast and is accurate too. It can also be used to take photographs, lift phone calls, and slide the notification panel. The good thing is that the use of these gestures from fingerprint sensors is possible with any finger. Not just the finger that has been registered for the device’s security.

On the left side of the Honor 9N is the place for the SIM tray. Here you have to select one of the other Nano SIM and MicroSD card. On right side there are volumes and power buttons. These are slightly smaller than ours, but they do not have trouble reaching them.

At the bottom of the phone there is a micro-USB port. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a loud speaker. Frustrated by not seeing the USB Type-C port for data transfers and charging Now UAB is launching Type-C port and it’s time that Honor should make this hardware feature a part of its budget handset.

Honor 9N Displays

Honor 9N has a 5.84-inch Full-HD + IPS display with a 19: 9 aspect ratio. The screen is dominated by the front panel. But this is not a completely borderless screen. At the bottom is still quite awkward. Display is one of the key features of this phone. The viewing angle is very accurate and the panel is bright, vivid and panicky. 19: 9 aspect ratios improves gaming and multimedia experience.

Honor 9N Specifications

Honor 9N has used Honor’s trusted Kirin 659 processor. This processor has also been used in Honor 7X (review), Honor 9 Lite, Honor 9i (review). There are three variants of smartphones that touch different price segments. The initial variant is of 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of storage, which is worth Rs 11,999. We have reviewed the variants of Rs 13,999 which comes with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. The third variant of the phone is Rs 17,999, which comes with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. In the first cell that will be on July 31, the Honor 9N will have 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage variants. The company has not yet said anything about the availability of the remaining variants.

Honor 9N has 3,000 mAh battery. It runs on the eMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. The handset for connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 AC, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, 4G VOLETE, Micro-USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack. There is no support for NFC. It can be used simultaneously in two sim, but will work on the same 4G network.

Honor 9N Performance

If seen, the kirin 659 processor is a little old. It can not challenge Qualcomm’s mid-range processors brought in today’s time in terms of power and capacity. Honor 9N handles common tasks easily, such as web browsing and social media applications. But after pressing it goes backward. When several apps open in the background or dozens of tabs open in Chrome, we have a little bit of a weak processor. We sometimes felt the keyboard lag. During the review the phone was occasionally slow. In today’s budget, the budget phones are becoming more powerful, in such a way, the downfall of Honor 9N disappoints. In our experience, game like Subway Surfers will be okay. But in the game Asphalt 8, there was a complaint of falling framerate.

The smartphone became hot even after pressing But not so much that you feel embarrassed. Call quality was crisp and clear. 4G connectivity is also very strong Honor 9N has Face Recognition support and it is possible with a 16 megapixel front camera. Under most circumstances, it works fine. In good light, it quickly unlocks the phone. But there is a problem in the sun’s direct light and inadequate light.

Honor 9N Software

Honor 9N runs out of the box Android 8.0 Oreo. The EMUI 8.0 custom skin has been used on top of it. For the moment, nothing has been said about giving Android P update to this phone. EMUI now gives better response than the older version. Huawei claims that the EMUI 8.0 version is 60 percent faster than EMUI 5.1. But it is still not as fast as the stock Android or Oxygen OS.

Pre-installed in app phones such as Facebook Messenger, Troicker and Netflix. The good thing is that they can be uninstalled. To be fair, the number of unsolicited apps given in Honor 9N is disappointing.

Honor 9N Battery Life

Honor 9N battery

Like Honor 9 Lite, this phone of the Honor brand has a very average battery life. In our HD Video Loop Test, the Honor 9N battery lasted 8 hours 40 minutes. This is less than the average performance of this market segment. In common use, we found that the phone was required to charge the phone at 9-10 pm. By using here we mean, running Google Maps for two-three hours. Throughout the day, stay active on social media apps such as WhatsApp, Twitter and Instagram, play Asphalt 8 games for a while and occasionally use the camera for selfie and video. There is no fast charging support. The battery of the phone takes about two and a half hours in full-charge.

Honor 9N Camera

Honor 9N has dual rear camera setup. The primary sensor is 13 megapixels and secondary sensor is 2 megapixels. Also the LED flash is also provided. The front panel has a sensor of 16 megapixels.

Camera app is built wisely. It also has a pro mode where the user has the ability to control shutter speed, ISO, exposure, aperture and white balance. AR stuckers are fun and have a good time to waste time. It can be used in front and rear cameras.

In the appropriate light the rear camera takes pictures of better quality than average. Photos come with good detail and colors are also accurate. In wide aperture mode you can set the aperture between (F / 0.95 – F / 13). It is possible to take such pictures before or after. However, seeing the pictures taken in wide aperture mode seemed as if trying to make Photoshop deteriorated. Photos have not even received the average quality. Edge Detection was extremely average.

The performance of the camera in low light is very poor. There is a lack of detail in the photo and it seems superhuman. Knives also get a glimpse and the phone is slow to focus too. There is a similarity to the front camera too. It lags in low light and takes fine pictures in suitable light. Beauty mode also gives a 10-degree buffetting and it works fine. You can also take a Bokeh shot from the front camera. This is possible through software algorithms. Photos in this mode are of very high quality and the blur effect does not work many times.

You will be able to record videos from front and rear cameras up to 1080 pixel resolution. The quality of the recorded video is extremely average and lacks details of detail, especially at night. Due to the absence of electronic image stabilization, the footage starts shaky.

Honor 9N Verdict

Honor 9N is a compact smartphone that comes with Vibrant display, new design and out of box Android 8.0 Oreo. Color variants are very interesting, especially Robin Egg Blue. At the same time, battery life is extremely average. The performance is less than the average. EMUI looks like scattering and the camera disappoints in low light.

If you want a good display with a slick phone then the initial variant of Honor 9N will prove to be a bargain deal. The rest variants are slightly more expensive and we can not recommend them to buy you. If you are looking for a phone in this price segment, then Redmi Note 5 Pro is a great all-rounder device and Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 is a great deal of profit. Oppo Realme 1 is also a good choice. It comes with more powerful processors, but it does not have fingerprint sensor.
