Critic’s Rating: 3.5/5
If we talk about the last few films of Young Director Neeraj Pandey, then almost all of his films were appreciated by the audience and the critics also praised his films. Directed by Neeraj, the low-budget ‘Wednesday’ was a film that neither of the industry had a prominent star nor the budget of the film was in crores. The movie revolving around Anupam and Naseer, did a tremendous business on the ticket window, and Critics also got amazing response from the film. At the same time, Neeraj’s next films, ‘Baby’, ‘Special 26’ followed the biopic film of the mega budget MS Dhoni, which was included in his hit movie list. If we talk about the subjects of Neeraj’s films, his films are often made out of leak and each time a new subject comes out. Aiyaary, which is directed by Neeraj, is also a mega budget film, which is being estimated to be worth 65 crores including budget promotion. Neeraj presented Manoj Bajpai and Siddharth Malhotra together for the first time in this film. Before the release of the film, the release date was delayed, and afterwards the Censor Committee sent it to a Defense Ministry’s committee, looking at the sensitive subject of the film. Let’s know what is special in Neeraj’s film.
Colonel Abhay Singh (Manoj Bajpai) and Young Major Jai Bakshi (Siddharth Malhotra) both work for a special unit of the Army. Of course, there is good and strong tuning between these two, but there is a lot of debate between them both at the same time. Now it is different that Jai Bakshi has since started Colonel Abhay Singh as his guru. Suddenly some such incidents start happening, after which Jai Bakshi is involved in planning to move somewhere far from Delhi. Abhay himself is surprised by seeing these strange events and his behavior of Jai, what is Jai doing. In the meantime, suddenly one day, Jai disappears, and from here on, the story revolves around the defense deal with the security issues of the country and the army officers and intelligence bureaus to the corridors of politics. Neeraj often takes the place for Heroine in the story of his film. Even in ‘Special 26’, he fits like a plot of heroin in the story. It is similar to this movie too. In this story of Defense, Sonia’s love story of Rakul Preet also goes along. The climax of the film is surprising.
The film’s photography is awesome. The story of Aiyaary, which started from Delhi, goes through the very beautiful valleys of Kashmir, reaching the pious place of London. This time under the direction of Neeraj, there is no such speed in the story of the past films and the story which can finally keep the audience tied. Although cameraman has done such a beautiful photography in the whole film that force you to keep the eyes fixed on the screen. At the same time, Neeraj shot some special scenes of the film on real locations, which is worth watching. Director Neeraj Pandey narrates this film as a film related to a true story, but he did not give much detail about this film. At the same time, Neeraj unnecessarily pulled out many scenes of the film so that the film is very slow and cannot go anywhere according to the film’s subject. At the same time, Neeraj fitted the songs in an out-of-the-box movie that gives the audience an opportunity to go out of the hall. Do not know why Neeraj made Rakul and Siddharth’s love story as part of the film. If that was not so, Neeraj could easily complete the film in two hours and it was also good for the film’s business.
If we talk about acting, of course Manoj Bajpayee has finally managed to keep the audience in his role in the whole film. Manoj’s acting is the biggest plus point of the film, and for Siddharth Malhotra, this film is special. The character of Jai Bakshi has been sidelined by Siddhartha from his powerful acting. There was nothing special to do for Rakul Priet, while Anupam and Nasir were both perfect in their roles.
